Foundations of Christ - Part 1

Foundations of Christ - Part 1

After all, no one can lay any other foundation than the one that is already laid, and that foundation is Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 3:11).
    * Jesus is the foundation of our individual lives.
    * Jesus is the foundation of this Church/Body.
    * Jesus is the foundation of the entire Church/Body.

    - Foundation -

The ground and underlying base upon which everything else is built.

He existed in the beginning as the Word (the embodiment of all the supreme wisdom of God).  Indeed, He was even called the wisdom of God (Luke 11:49, 1 Cor. 1:24).  In the beginning He was with God and was God (John 1:1).

This God, our Lord Jesus, became flesh and dwelt with us.  Those present beheld His glory (John 1:14).

And He was crucified as the Lamb of God who took away the sin of the world (John 1:29, Matt. 27:35).
And we were crucified with Him, burying, and destroying the old body of sin, in the grave (Rom. 6:6).

And Jesus has redeemed us, who were sold under sin, by His blood forgiving and freeing us from the curse/consequences of the law (Rom. 7:14; Eph. 1:7; Gal. 3:13).

And this Jesus, God has raised up (Acts 2:32).
And we were raised up together (with Him) and made to sit in the heavenly realms (Eph. 2:6).

And this Jesus has come back in the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Christ.  He now manifests Himself in us and makes His abode (mansion) in us (John 14:18, 21).

In Him we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28).
We no longer live (as we once did before we were dead and buried with Him), but Christ lives in us (Gal. 2:20, Phil. 1:21).

Now, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Phil. 4:13).  For you are working in us both to will and do of your good pleasure (Phil. 2:13).

Thank you, Lord, for who You are and what You have done for us.  We believe in our hearts these to be true and declare with our mouths.
